Postpartum Depression Therapy

You aren’t alone, and you don’t have to suffer alone.

Postpartum Depression Is A REAL THING…

It is a very real and very serious problem for many mothers. It can happen to a first time mom, or a mom of 12. Many women end up in a dark, discouraging place and don’t know where to turn or who to ask about it. Women are finding themselves blessed to become a mother, but at the same time struggling with guilt over depressive thoughts, hopelessness, and exhaustion. This is when seeking out support is vital.

According to Postpartumdepression.org, approximately 1 in 10 women will experience postpartum depression after giving birth, with some studies reporting 1 in 7 women.

Postpartum therapy involves talking one-on-one with one of our mental health therapists with a goal of better understanding your feelings and developing appropriate coping skills to manage those feelings, solve problems, set realistic goals and respond to situations in a positive way. Sometimes family or relationship therapy will also help, along with possible antidepressants which would need to be recommended by your health care provider. If you are struggling, please reach out to us. The sooner you get help, the sooner you’ll be fully equipped to cope with unsettling feelings and enjoy your new baby!
